How The Shiny Mermaid came about.
My name is Rachel Pomeranz, owner of The Shiny Mermaid, a home cleaning and organizing company. Virginia Beach has been my home for over 40 years. I am raising my son here and have enjoyed a 25-year, full-time career in Property Management. In short, I know what it is like to feel the stresses of raising a family, pursuing a career while maintaining a clean and well-organized home.
I take great satisfaction in creating a clean, clutter free and organized home – for myself and others. After some self-reflection during a stressful 2020, I made the decision to apply myself full-time to something I LOVE. The Shiny Mermaid is the result.

Custom Residential Cleaning Services
Coming home to a messy house is stressful and I am here to help relieve that stress. Together, we can customize regularly scheduled cleaning services to help you with the tasks you dread or simply do not have time to complete. We will discuss if you want bedding washed and changed, and other details of service. I will take care of your home with the same care as if it were my own. My goal is to leave your sanctuary spotless so that you can focus on the rest of your life.
Green Cleaning Services
Some people prefer more traditional products like Scrubbing Bubbles or Pine Sol, while others prefer a more natural alternative. This is your home, and you get to choose. The all-natural cleaners will contain Young Living Thieves Cleaners and Young Living Essential Oils.
Home Organizing Services
This is my favorite task! Sometimes clutter can feel so overwhelming. I am here to help!
